Hi folks -

We wanted to make it even easier for members and guests to sign up and pay for rides/events/dues/etc. The Club has been accepting PayPal for some time, but its usage has frankly been pretty minimal up to this point. While there are some fees that come with PayPal usage, especially if folks pay with credit cards rather than from bank accounts, the ease of payment for the Member along with the ease of collection for the Club more than make up for them. (the club will absorb these fees for the foreseeable future)

This web page now has a new MSMC Payment Center (http://www.montgomerybikers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45) that can be reached directly from the navigation bar towards the top of this page. On this page are one-click buttons that are pre-populated with the appropriate description and amount. To use them, simply figure out what ride/event you're paying for, click on the relevant button, and you will be taken immediately to the PayPal site, with the transaction details already filled in. If you have a PayPal account, all you need to do then is enter your PayPal user information, and you're done. If you do not have a PayPal account yet, just fill out the credit card and other information (only have to do this once), and PayPal will step you through setting up an account. If the ride has options, such as dinner choice or shirt size, these options will show up as pull-down menus right on the PayPal page.

We hope this makes it easier for folks to get their $ in, and will also make it less necessary to send out those knee-breakers in the dark of night to educate the less prompt... :D

The Club will of course continue to accept payment via check, cash, or fancy beads; the Payment Center is by no means mandatory. But for those folks who are game, it's a slick way to not worry about envelopes, stamps, or checks. For any questions regarding the Payment Center, PayPal, or any related concepts, please PM either myself (Alex (http://www.montgomerybikers.com/forums/member.php?u=2) ) or our treasurer (Ben (http://www.montgomerybikers.com/forums/member.php?u=27)).
