Wow! Melandri is 1.5 seconds faster than Rossi after two practice sessions at this new track in Turkey. And Gibernau is only a tick behind Melandri. Think it will stick until the race later this weekend, or will Yamaha find something before qualifying?

Rossi takes awhile to get up to speed at new tracks, so I'm not surprised he's not in the top 3 in FP. Like at Laguna, I suspect he'll make a charge during qualifying.

Melandri is impressive, and Nicky is right there too, though a bit off the pace of Marco and Sete. That doesn't bode well, if Nicky isn't on the same pace as the top qualifiers he tends to fade during the race.

Does it really matter where Sete qualifies?
