Did everyone see the BIG ad in City Bike for the Yamaha event? The ad details say:

"There's only one place you'll want to be on October 1: Alice's Restaurant in Woodeside, California for the Yamaha Sportbike public introduction and 50th Anniversary celebration. You'll get the chance to meet and receive an autograph from three-time World Champion Wayne Rainey and AMA Supersport Champion Jamie Hacking - and see, touch and sit on the bikes that will soon be legendary in their own right."

Alice's Restaurant
17288 Skyline Blvd.
Woodside, CA
9am until 12pm on Saturday, October 1st

Team Ciurczak is hoping to make it out there, but it will have to be in a car since Alex will still be wheelchair bound. I guess it'll give Alex a chance to drool over the new R6. Since his broken one is getting fixed, it looks like no new R6 for him.

Any other folks going?

Here's a link (http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/mcy/sportbike_reveal.aspx) to the ad on Yamaha's website.

It seems like a neat event...more than just a simple tour of the bikes...and right up the hill from us.

Unfortunately, we'll be out of town, so we'll have to rely upon pics from the club ambassadors!

Well, it's looking like we won't be going... Alex thinks that the crowds will be too much to handle, i.e. finding a place to park with the car, then trying to navigate the crowd in a wheelchair. I still think it would be neat to go, but for now I'm governed by the desires of the man in the wheelchair.

Hoping or hopping?

Why can't you get on a walking cast or crutches?

Hi George! I'm not going to be able to put any weight on it for at least 4 more weeks; after that I may be getting a walking cast or boot of some sort. I still have a cast on my right hand/wrist that makes crutches dicey (I'm holding up my weight with a combination of my right thumb and under my arm). That cast is scheduled to come off on Oct. 4th, which will make crutches a bit more palatable.

Alex and I didn't make it out to the event today, but are dying to hear about it! Anyone go? If yes, do tell!
