Have you guys heard about this 12 year old girl who races motorcycles really well? Could she be the Danica Patrick of Motorcycles? Alex downloaded a whole bunch of videos that were pretty interesting - her going around T-hill and an interview where she said that when she was big enough she was going to race 600 cc bikes in Supersport, after that she was going to race Superbike where she hopes to win in her first year, then she wanted to be the first woman in MotoGP where she hoped to be world champion! The interview was sooo cute!

There's an article about her doing a trackday sponsored by Kawasaki in one of the current racing mags. Due to insurance (or lack thereof) they wouldn't let her on the track with more than one other person.

There's a pic of her on the "big" bike with her knee down at full lean. My legs are way longer than hers...can a 13 year old be an inspiration?

She also joked about wondering if Greg White from SPEED, who rode some laps with her, would be able to keep up. :biggrin:

Hee hee! I met Elena! Although I got a great pic of her, Kyle, and me, I should have also gotten an autograph - duh! I had my 2007 motoGP hat - should have gotten her to sign it... oh well, next time.

Young Gun Elena Myers, age 14, was seriously injured Sunday when she crashed her Kawasaki ZX-6R during a WERA West weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway in Buttonwillow, California.

Myers is hospitalized with a lacerated spleen and a concussion, according to her father, Matt Myers. She also suffered a burn on her leg as a result of being trapped under the crashed motorcycle until emergency crews arrived.

In a phone call to Roadracingworld.com Monday at 3:30 p.m., Elena Myers reported that she is currently at Kern Medical Center but may be released as early as Tuesday morning. She also reported that it took an ambulance about 40 minutes to transport her from Buttonwillow Raceway to Kern Medical Center, and that her friends told her that she was prone and under her crashed bike for about five minutes (at least two laps) before the race was red-flagged and an ambulance crew dispatched to help her.

Her phone call interrupted by a move to another room, Elena Myers called back at about 3:45. "I feel pretty good, my knees are sore and my arms and my ankle hurt, and I have a burn on my leg from being caught under the bike," she said. "I'm doing fine. I'll be at (the AMA National at) Infineon (spectating) next weekend."
