In case anyone is interested in getting their bike detailed, I just had mine done in San Rafael by Matt Berry at Details Plus (near corner of Irwin and Andersen). Marin BMW recommended Matt - same guys they use when they need to get bikes cleaned up. My K12GT was covered in bugs from our Gold Country ride (and subsequent breakfast runs), had a number of scuff marks on the saddle bags from where my boot hit them, had black goo melted on the exhaust can from where I trashed my rain pants, and had a windscreen that looked ready for replacement for all the scratches.

I dropped the bike off last evening and picked it up this evening. Could not believe my eyes. Windscreen was glistening, bags were spotless, and the whole bike sparkled, including the engine alloy, wheels, even the rear shock spring! He even detailed my helmet!! (I left it with him so I wouldn't have to schlep it back). All this for a very reasonable price - friendly service is thrown in. Based on this experience I would highly recommend Matt and Details Plus. 415-505-6004.

Bike detailing! Seems to me to be another manifestation of OCD.

do they do leathers too? Hey thanks for the info. I will likely try them out if and when the weather makes it worth it.

George - did you re-bolt your rear fender and license plate yet?
