Just purchased the 48 LED rear light bulb that fits the 1XXXGS, its' the 1157 fitting so I'm sure it fits more bikes.
I purchased it, it works fine, but b/c the LED uses less juice, my bike thinks there is no bulb and is throwing a fault.
A call to Custom Dynamics says it happens sometimes, it depends on that certain bike (not the model).

I paid $34.99 + $8.25 shipping ($43.24), I'll sell it for $30.

I'll bring it to the SMR, if you're intersted we can see if it works on your bike. Otherwise I'll just return it.

The product description is as follows:
2.0" 1157 Direct Base
48 LEDS Red Dual Intensity
Item: GEN-20-1157
Price: $34.99 ea

Link to the website is http://www.customdynamics.com/motorcycle_led_bulbs.htm#New_1157_Direct_Base_-_A_Custom_Dynamics_Exclusive

Sorry no pics.

See you Sunday!!

Hi Geoff -

May be more trouble than its worth, but you can put a resistor inline with the bulb wiring and it will work fine without triggering an ecu fault. Right around 40 ohms would work fine (to produce a 5 watt load at 14 volts).

Here's a link on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/40-Ohm-10-Watt-Power-Resistors_W0QQitemZ250140539495QQcmdZViewItem) to such a resistor for $4.

Yeah, not worth it to me, especially since I have an LED (attaches to the plate) which i'll be putting on the bike soon.
