After a wonderful day to Coalinga and back, we found a letter from the CA DMV in our mailbox. The second paragraph states:

"EACH YEAR THIS DEPARTMENT SUSPENDS OR REVOKES THE DRIVING PRIVILEGE OF OVER ONE MILLION DRIVERS. A RECENT ENTRY TO YOUR DRIVING RECORD PLACES YOU DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO JOINING THIS GROUP."

The RECENT ENTRY at the bottom of the letter was dated 4-30-05, which was the DV ticket Alex got from our friendly Park Ranger (see Alex's current Avatar).

I guess if the above happens, you may be seeing MSMC's esteemed president on the back of the Ninja 250 on future rides.

Alex:

How close are you? Out of curiosity, is your car insurance beginning to look like a car payment?

My car insurance is starting to look more like a house payment, actually. As long as I can survive the next month without a ticket (challenging, as the Cal24 is in the middle of that), a ticket will drop of the "you're screwed" list, and I'll be reasonably confident of keeping my license (lucky me!)...

Try to behave for a few days or don't lead our roads on roads that are likely to be patrolled.
